Water Resources Development Act

While it’s probably old news by now, the Water Resources Development Act has been successfully made into law with both the House and Senate overriding the presidential veto.

The Martin County Board of County Commissioners sends heartfelt thanks to the many, many citizens in Martin County and elsewhere who responded to our many calls to action over the past few years to achieve this goal. While we celebrate this victory for Florida's Everglades and our Indian River Lagoon, we are only starting the process to restore these important bodies of water.

WRDA has been authorized; the next step is to get the projects funded. Please stand by to participate in future actions to convince our legislators and president to match the funding invested by the State of Florida and our own Healthy Rivers dollars for restoration of these environmental treasures.
