The NOW (Neighborhood Opportunities Workshop) visioning report has been completed. In February, we kicked off this process, by hosting Dan Burden, a renowned expert in walkability. Mr. Burden, founder of the Walkable and Livable Communities Institute, Inc., provided walking audits of the neighborhoods to identify areas which could benefit from improvements that make the area better for walkers and bikers. NOW visioning was used as a tool to allow the communities within one of the County's seven Community Redevelopment Area's to discuss what they saw as that community's strengths, weaknesses and opportunities. Those responses and comments were put together in a report.
We presented the report to a joint workshop of the Community Redevelopment Agency and the seven Neighborhood Advisory Committees on August 25, 2010. If you missed this meeting, please refer to our website for the report. www.NOWVisioning.com | |
